Programs and Camps: Adult Competitive

This program is designed for experienced rowers who want to train hard and row competitively. The program's primary focus is intermediate sweep and sculling including heavyweight, lightweight and masters. This program attracts former collegiate rowers, graduates from the ARC novice programs and collegiate rowers who are living in the Capital District for the summer. These athletes compete in a full schedule of regional races.

Practice Times

Spring:

March 17 - May 31, 2008
Mon. - Fri. 5:30-7 a.m.
Sat. 7 -9 a.m.

Summer:

June 2 - August 15, 2008
Mon. - Fri. 5:30-7 a.m.
Sat. 7 -9 a.m.

Fall:

September 1 - November 1, 2008
Mon. - Fri. 5:30-7 a.m.
Sat. 7 -9 a.m.

Membership Dues and Fees

Spring Dues: $300
Summer Dues: $300
Fall Dues: $300

Virtual Racing Account (VRA): $175
As you participate in races, Albany Rowing Center will deduct the “actual cost” of attending the regatta from your VRA.

“Actual costs” are the cumulative cost of:

  • Entry Fees
  • Gas
  • Tolls
  • Coach’s costs

Divided by:

  • Number of racers participating in that regatta

At the end of each racing season, racers may choose from the following options:

  • Apply their balance to the next racing season’s VRA account
  • Donate the balance to ARC
  • Cash-out their balance
