Programs and Camps: Adult Learn-to-Row

This program is for adults interested in learning the basic techniques and styles of sculling and sweep rowing. The program is a low impact sport available to adults of all athletic levels.

We offer four evening sessions of four weeks each. Participants may take one, several or all scheduled sessions. To reserve a seat for a session, please see the registration instructions below.

To advance to rowing in other ARC programs, you need to participate in at least two learn to row sessions. After two sessions, participants are encouraged to advance to the adult coached/intermediate program; dues and fees for advancing will depend on what sessions have been completed. In exceptional cases, participants completing one learn to row session may advance to other programs with the approval of the coach.

Prerequisite

You must pass an ARC-organized swim test at the Albany Bath House. A fee of $1.00 will be collected payable to the Albany Bath House.
