Head of the Hudson: Classifications

Novice: A novice is a competitor who did not compete in a race of the same boat type (sweep or scull) on or before September 27, 2007.

Junior: A junior is a competitor who will not attain the age of 19 in 2008 or who is and has been continuously enrolled in a secondary school as a full-time student seeking a diploma.

Master: A master is a competitor who has attained or will attain the age of 21 during 2008.

Coxswains: Coxswains may be of either gender and Masters' coxswains may be any age. All junior coxswains, however, must be juniors. All coxswains are on their honor that they weigh at least 100 pounds.

Masters' Handicapping: Handicaps will be calculated according to the USRA Rules of Rowing based upon a 5000 meter course. All Masters' races will be handicapped unless all competitors in the event fall within the same age division. We will not be running separate age division races.
