About ARC: Mission Statement
The following is taken directly from the Certificate of Incorporation of Organization of Adirondack Rowers & Scullers, Inc. (O.A.R.S.), March 1984:
FIRST: The name of the Corporation is ORGANIZATION OF ADIRONDACK ROWERS & SCULLERS, INC. (O.A.R.S.)
SECOND: The purposes for which it is formed are:
To stimulate and foster interest in the sport of rowing among amateurs as individuals and in Clubs, College, Schools and Industries. To publicize the manifold advantages of rowing as a means of health and physical development. To uphold the principles and standards of amateur rule. To promote interest through competition and the holding of regattas. To use every reasonable endeavor for the advancement and upbuilding of amateur rowing in accordance with the best traditions of sportsmanship.
To lawfully do any and all things necessary, suitable and proper, for the accomplishment of the corporate purposes.
