Bonnie Chapman
Bonnie began her rowing career when she was a sophomore at Eastside High School in Gainesville, FL. She soon fell in love with the sport and since she couldn't bear to give it up after high school she decided to compete in college. Having originally lived in the northeast when she was younger, Bonnie decided come north to Syracuse for college. She rowed for Syracuse University for four years (1999-2003). Her first two years she competed in the Junior Varsity eight and her last two years in the Varsity eight in bow seat. During the years she rowed for Syracuse, the team won the Big East championships every year, maintained national rankings, and even made an appearance at the NCAA competition in Indianapolis in 2002.
While trying to decide what next steps to take in life, Bonnie coached for Cazenovia Rowing Club for one summer. For the past 2.5 years Bonnie has been rowing with the master rowers and coaching both the ARC juniors and master rowers when a need arises. Having felt so welcomed into ARC, Bonnie is very excited to give a little back to the club and take on the new challenges that await her in coaching the morning adult rowers.
