Membership
ARC programs serve young athletes in grades 8 through 12 and adults of all ages. Our Junior rowing program seeks to compete at the highest level in local, regional and national regattas. The program serves students from Albany area schools that do not have their own rowing programs. Our Adult rowing programs include both competitive and non-competitive rowing and serve a diverse group of new and experienced rowers. Membership is open to all and ARC does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, age or sexual orientation.
Members pay dues to join the rowing program of their choice. Member dues represent a major income source for the club, and all dues money goes to pay for club operations such as coaching salaries, equipment and administrative costs (e.g. insurance). ARC is an all volunteer organization and members are expected to volunteer their time to help with special events, fundraising, facility maintenance, and special projects organized by the Board of Directors, the coaches or a committee.
Membership stands at approximately 125 members distributed more or less equally between juniors and adults. Our members come from many communities in the Capital District.
